AMC’s Tech Satire ‘The Audacity’ Showcases Stunning BC Architecture

It hurts a bit every time ‘The Audacity’ goes to commercial. The title card flashes on screen, and with it, an image of Surrey Libraries’ City Centre Branch. In the 2026 AMC show, that’s the headquarters of the fake tech corporation Cupertino (a comp for Apple).

There’s something perverse about turning a public library into a tech office. It suits a show where almost every character is compromised. But what isn’t compromised is the architecture.

‘The Audacity’ is a gold mine of daring modern architecture and design in BC’s Lower Mainland and beyond. Here are just a handful of buildings featured in the first season.

Cupertino Campus

Cupertino’s headquarters are located in the heart of Surrey, BC. Designed by Bing Thom, this iconic, slanting structure was built in 2011. It’s also been seen in several other shows—notably, ‘The Flash’ and ‘Supergirl.’

Tech Hammer Blows

New Westminster’s Anvil Centre is the setting for the climax of the first season. This community, heritage, and meeting space was designed by HCMA and completed in 2014. No spoilers, but the show makes great use of the sightlines in the Anvil Centre’s expansive atrium.

AI Apocalypse Bunker

Gabe, one of Duncan’s former business partners, has taken his winnings and retreated to a sprawling house on an island. But that house actually sits on a hay farm south of Vancouver. 75.9 was designed by Omer Arbel and completed in 2015. This unique structure features fabric-form concrete columns and pokes out of the earth erratically, resembling an archaeological heritage site. Where better for a tech guy to hide out from the apocalypse he helped create than in a house designed to look like ruins?

Data Farm House

Home to main character (and raving lunatic) Duncan Park, his wife Lili, and their daughter Jamison, this modern farmhouse is actually located in Vancouver’s Southlands neighbourhood. Gateway Architecture designed the house, while the landscaping was designed by Paul Sangha Creative. And the main star of the show is that epic pool.

Infinite Growth

There are plenty of other locations that deserve mention here, but some of them are harder to identify. We’re still hunting for Duncan’s second house, which features a courtyard pool and ocean views. Duncan’s wife takes the headmaster of her daughter’s school to a gorgeous spa. And that school has the world’s prettiest gym.
